Jean-Sebastien Giguere's Biography

Jean-Sebastien Giguere born May 16th, 1977, in Montreal, Quebec and is a French-Canadian professional hockey goaltender currently playing with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League, where J.S. Giguere became the only Maple Leafs goaltender to record a shutout in his first two games.

J.S. played major junior hockey with the Verdun Collège Français and Halifax Mooseheads in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he was drafted 13th overall by the Hartford Whalers in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. Giguere's nickname is Jiggy and he played in the Calgary Flames organization for four seasons before joining the Ducks in 2000.
Giguère won the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2003, where he went to the finals with the Ducks against the Devils, but lost in seven games. J.S. went to the Stanley Cup finals again with the Ducks in 2007 and won the Stanley Cup in 5 games against the Senators.
